Springdale, positioned in Washington County, Utah, lies just at the edge of Zion National Park and has developed a tourism industry due to its proximity to the park. The town was initially established as a Mormon agricultural settlement in 1862 by those fleeing the floodwaters in Northrop.

Nestled in Zion Canyon, Springdale is surrounded by natural beauty, with Mount Kinesava to its west and The Watchman to its east. The town is also traversed by the North Fork Virgin River, which nears its confluence with the East Fork of the Virgin River within the town’s vicinity.

Geographically, Springdale is situated on the western border of the Colorado Plateau and is part of a transition zone that includes the Colorado Plateau, the Great Basin, and the Mojave Desert.
